Moonbow Ceramics is run by Christine, a qualified adult tutor and community facilitator.
To date we have provided a weekly after school pottery workshop for Ely St John's primary school. Currently in our second year we continue to provide fresh ideas and projects.
We are very proud to have provided taster pottery workshops for the family learning festival, which is held during the month of October and provides families the opportunity to spend quality, time together and learn something new. Last year we provided taster pottery workshops for six of the main stream primary schools in Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire. Learners where able to make and take their creations, however, some schools opted for the work to be taken away, kiln fired and returned so they could then celebrate the works by displaying it within their schools.
We celebrate our learners' creations, here on our website within our online gallery.
We have in the past successfully gained funding from Family Learning and the CP Learning Trust. With their financial support we established an after school family pottery workshop at the Millfield primary school and an evening workshop for adults in littleport, Cambridgeshire.
We can now look forward to providing these facilities on a regular basis in the future.
All my thanks to Eva from the CP Learning Trust. Christine from Family Learning and Mrs Harris from the Millfield primary school, who have provided me, with my stepping stones.
